An Ode to Lussuria by SJ Molloy

Today’s ode is to the wonderful SJ Molloy and the re-release of her book Lussuria. This book is amazing. It is one of the best books I have ever read. It’s got everything I need to fall in love with a book. There’s great writing, which is definitely a must. An amazing romance story, twisted past, sweet leading man who is slightly broken and who is also extremely hot, and a great cast of characters. This book will leave you wanting more!

Lussuria Review

ARC was given by the author in return for honest review!

File this book under “O” for OUTSTANDING! I previously read Lussuria by SJ Molloy, and I gave it 5 stars. I didn’t think it could possibly get any better…I was WRONG! Ms. Molloy has made some revisions and edits and this new version is better than ever before! The story of Lexi Robertson and Lucca Caruso is amazing! It will knock your socks off! You will be folded, crumbled, and melted for Lucca Caruso, just like me! It doesn’t take much, just some amazing blue eyes and his sweet words, and you’ll be a goner. I surely am!

Lexi, a physiotherapist with her own clinic, meets the amazing Lucca when he comes in needing his back examined. He is immediately smitten with her; even with tears in her eyes and her standoffish nature, she is the most interesting woman he’s ever met. Lexi automatically feels drawn to this man, even though she’s never felt drawn to anyone before. She continuously turns Lucca down, but he is the most persistent man on the face of the earth. Lexi tries to put this Italian God out of her mind so she can enjoy her upcoming vacation in Italy, but when she gets the surprise of her life and finds Lucca at the same villa as herself, she freaks out. Lexi had a very dark and sad childhood. It doesn’t take much to spook her, especially when it comes to men. Good thing Lucca is as persistent as he is, because he’s not giving up on getting his Dolcezza. Lexi and Lucca both have darkness in their lives, yet they manage to find a way to become each other’s light.

This book is one of my all time favorites. I love Lucca as much as he loves his gelato and his Dolcezza.  He’s extravagant and indulgent, but he is also loving and kind. I love his explanation about diamonds, and his need to give them to Lexi all the time. I always thought of diamonds as being something hard and cold until I saw them through the eyes of Lucca Caruso! The love story of Lucca and Lexi is very much whirlwind, but it is very beautiful. I loved every second of this book, even the dark parts. I absolutely LOVED the supporting characters, and cannot wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for everyone! The book leaves you feeling like things are going great, until the epilogue, and then there is a little bit of cliffhanger. SJ Malloy has left me wanting more, and I can’t wait.

The re-release of Lussuria is scheduled for April 27th, and book 2, L’amore is scheduled to come out on June 1st. Be sure to get your copies, because this is a series that you do not want to miss!

Lussuria Excerpt

“Yes, so where are we staying?” I ask.

“It is a surprise,” he says, kissing my lips.

I still quiver under his soft, sensual touch. I hope to have this feeling forever, and I pray that when we go home the stress and obstacles I’m challenged with will not affect our relationship. It has been lovely and secure here, but I’m preparing to face my reality very soon. Standing outside the farmhouse, I sigh; appreciating everything I have experienced and learned here. The pleasures and the heartaches. The steps I’ve taken still seem indescribable.

Trust.

Acceptance.

Forgiveness.

From all of the cataloguing and filing, the biggest chapter at the front of my mental library is my heart-to-heart with Cameron. Not only was that a revelation for me to discover his ghosts, it was a breakthrough that I managed to tell about mine. All because of one little book.

My journal.

Lucca puts his arms around me. “Do not worry, we will be back anytime you want. It is ours.” He kisses my temple.

SJ's Bio

SJ Molloy, first time British Author of ‘The Luminara Series’ was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. As a young child, her family moved and raised her in Lanarkshire, Scotland where she currently resides with her husband, two daughters and her energetic, hyperactive loving gun dog who is utterly spoiled.

SJ is a qualified Fitness Instructor and Health & Fitness Motivator of various fitness styles and disciplines. Music and dance aerobics have always been a pleasure and passion for her. SJ will sporadically make up dance style routines at any hour of the day when a move comes to her or piece of music moves or inspires her.  Currently not teaching classes, she is focusing her time into nurturing her yearning passion for creative writing, exchanging one visualisation for another.

As a child, SJ loved to write in journals and make up short stories and has a flare for all things creative. With an overactive imagination at times, SJ adores to make notes, visualise scenes and settings to create characterisations.

While on holiday with her family one summer reading book after book, she had a flash of inspiration and has had various ideas whirling around in her mind ever since. It was not until she pulled back on teaching classes that she found the courage, time and insight into actually bringing these ideas to life.

In February 2013 she decided to bring that imagination to light by beginning her writing  journey with ‘Lussuria’ the first instalment in ‘The Luminara Series’ available from late October 2013.

Being a self-confessed book junkie, she loves nothing better than to get lost in an emotional and moving book. A true romantic at heart, her guilty pleasure is reading heart-warming, passionate stories and falling in love with her favourite fictional characters.

With seven books already mapped out in ‘The Luminara Series’, SJ’s busy creative mind has already planned two more fictitious novels, both stand-alone romance books and very different in their own right.

When she is not writing or reading, spending time with family and friends or exercising and walking her dog, SJ loves all things practical and creative. Dancing, music, cooking, travelling, good food and wine and painting are her favourite past times along with laughter, lots and lots of laughter.

An Ode to Forgiving Lies and Deceiving Lies by Molly McAdams

So today is a joint ode to Forgiving Lies and Deceiving Lies by Molly McAdams. These two books are AMAZING! Of course, there isn't anything that I've read by Molly McAdams that I don't like. What can I say, she's one of my absolute FAVE authors! Her books are actually about the connection and the love between two people, and not all about the hot sex! And I'm a person who needs substance in my books, if it's a book with nothing but people getting it on, I'm bored! I'm NEVER EVER bored with a Molly McAdams book! And I'm sure you won't be either! I know you'll love Kash & Rach as much as I do! So these books are definite MUST READ 5 Star books!

Forgiving Lies Review

I have been completely blown away once again by Molly McAdams and her amazingness!!! Forgiving Lies made me laugh - a lot. It also made me cry, made me cuss at the kindle, and left me with a hangover so huge that I can’t even THINK about reading something else right now. I am left reeling from the emotional roller coaster that I have spent the last few days on, and I couldn’t be happier about it! I will warn you, however, you are left with a cliffhanger. Thank God the next book comes out in a few weeks, otherwise I’d be left dying a little inside!
Forgiving Lies is about undercover cop Logan Kash Ryan and the girl he falls hard for, Rachel Masters. Kash, as he prefers to be called, knows he shouldn’t get involved with anyone while undercover because he can never be truly honest about himself, but that doesn’t stop things from getting serious and fast with Rachel. She starts out as just a friend, even though from the very start they both feel something deeper. Kash is worried that his lies, which he reasons are for Rachel’s protection, will ruin them in the end. Rachel has her own secrets, and Kash has it set in his mind that he will know everything about her. Their relationship is fun, hot, and just amazing. Yes they have their flaws, but they are perfect for each other. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how Kash is so protective over Rach, and I love it when he calls her “woman”. And in turn, I love how Rach is independent, but at the same time she can’t live without Kash. They are amazing together, but miserable apart!
This book has a few awesome supporting characters, and I definitely would LOVE to see Mason, Kash’s best friend and partner, get his own book! The guy is hilarious, but he is also very loving and fiercely loyal when it comes to Rachel. She’s like his little sister! Candice, Rachel’s best friend, made me want to punch her in her cheerleader Barbie face most of the time, but in the end she wasn’t so bad.
This book is one of the best books I have read in a while. As always Molly McAdams delivered!! This book has it all, and then some!! And of course, listen to the playlist! Listening to certain songs made the experience that much better!! I will warn you, there are a few twists and turns that will make you scream or cry or both, but it is so worth it in the end! I can’t wait for book 2, Deceiving Lies, to come out. This is a definite MUST READ book!! Now get to it, y’all RTFN!!!

Favorite Quote: “No one has ever made me feel like my heart is flying away but still holding me to this earth. No one has ever made me feel so in love and terrified at the same time. No one, until you.” –Rachel

Deceiving Lies Review

Molly McAdams continues to blow me away! With each new book she publishes, I am astounded more and more by her amazing talent! In Deceiving Lies we are brought back into the pancake and Sour Patch Kid filled world of Kash and Rachel! Just when things are looking up for this couple, vacation in a few weeks, wedding shortly after that, and happily ever after, the unthinkable happens! As we learned at the end of Forgiving Lies, Rachel is kidnapped as part of a vendetta against Kash and Mason. After reading Deceiving Lies, we now know why. Rachel is held captive for over a month, being guarded very safely by her captor, Trent, who refuses to let anything happen to her. What Kash doesn’t know is that his Sour Patch is perfectly in safe. In typical fashion for Molly McAdams, the Queen of Ugly Cries, this emotional roller coaster of a book had me laughing one chapter and bawling my eyes out the next! This book is an amazing story of love, and of a couple finding their way back to each other, no matter what. If you haven’t read book 1 in this series, Forgiving Lies, I highly recommend it! These two books are MUST READS, and Deceiving Lies is one of the best books I’ve read this year!! I have to say, I am desperate for Mason’s story. I’m not ready to let go of this amazing cast of characters just yet!

Molly's Bio

Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

An Ode to Stealing Harper by Molly McAdams

Ok, so as life has a tendency to step in and make unwanted changes, last week I wasn't able to finish my Ode to Molly McAdams week! So for that, I am sorry! However, TODAY we are back on track, and I have my ode to Stealing Harper, which you could say is a reading companion to Taking Chances. It's not a continuation of Harper's story, but it is actually Chase's story from the time he met Harper. His account of what happened, and let me tell ya, this has got to be the most nerve wracking, heart wrenching book that I have ever read. Yes, you have to read Taking Chances first, it is a must! Once you read TC you already know how Stealing Harper is going to end, but it's like a train wreck, you can't look away. And just like you know what is happening, you know that you HAVE TO KNOW what was going through Chase's mind!

Emotionally wrecked. That is the only way that I can describe how I feel after reading Stealing Harper by Molly McAdams. I feel like I have been hit with all of these painful feelings, and I am drained from all of everything. Stealing Harper is Chase’s story. Some parts of the book are alternate POV from Taking Chances while other parts are added material. To say that Chase was an asshole to Harper would be an understatement, but always….ALWAYS…underneath it all, he was in love with her from the beginning. In his eyes, he wasn’t good enough for Harper. He had so much self-hatred that he thought she’d be better off without him, even though he was in love with her, even though it killed him to not be with her. Harper changed Chase, even though she didn’t realize it. Seeing an alternate POV, you are able to go JEEZ  why didn’t you see all of these changes all along Harper? I wanted to smack both Harper and Chase in the back of the head for their stubbornness and for the emotional roller coaster that felt so intense that I could feel it in my soul. I won’t give anything away, other than this book will literally kill you. If you are like me, and you FEEL everything that you read, if you are someone who feels like they are truly in the books that they read, then you will be as emotionally wrecked as I am right now. Chase’s love for Harper was such a beautiful thing, but they wasted so much time playing games, that it hurt. I hurt for them, and my heart aches now. Definitely a must read book, AFTER you’ve read Taking Chances, of course. It is beyond 5 stars in my book. And just a warning, you will ugly cry! That’s a promise!
